Our intrepid author was born sometime late in 1983 in a grim, inhospitable part of planet Earth - the North of England.
An introvert, most of his time as a child was spent alone reading whatever he could get his hands on. His first encounter with comics would come, as I suspect is the case with many children of his generation in the UK, via the Dandy and the Beano. Not too long afterwards, most Saturday afternoons were spent at the local library, devouring every available volume of Hergé's Tintin and Goscinny and Uderzo's Astérix that he could find.
The teenage years would bring access to the comic book store in the next town and the big two. Batman and Daredevil were particular favourites. Eventually, this led to the gateway drug that is Alan Moore, and from there, over the years, to Eisner, Kirby, Foster, Caniff, the Hernandez Brothers, Moebius, Pratt, Manara, and many, many more.
The better part of four decades later, he is still an introvert who spends most of his time alone reading; the difference is now he has a little more to say about it.
